The US Food and Drug Administration on Wednesday approved the use of Nexium, which is a generic version of Prilosec, to treat conditions such as heartburn.
The drug is approved by the FDA for use in the management of frequent heartburn and acid reflux, and is also approved for the treatment of reflux esophagitis, which affects more than 1 in 10 people, according to a statement from Teva.
